Football season is officially here, and in the spirit of friendly competition, we decided to take a page out of the fantasy sports playbook and conduct our very own Fantasy X-Men Draft!

Marc and Erik, two die-hard Marvel fans, armed with their encyclopedic knowledge of mutant powers and personalities, go head-to-head to assemble the ultimate X-Men squads. But these teams aren’t just for show. They’re tasked with facing two simultaneous threats: a Brood invasion at The Peak station in space and a Sentinel assault on the X-Mansion. The stakes are high, the choices are tough, and the mutant mayhem is about to unfold.

We went with a classic snake-style draft, where each participant took turns selecting their heroes. Strategy was key. Drafters first needed to select a leader for each team, combining leadership skills with raw power. Do you prioritize tactical flexibility or specific powers that address the mission at-hand? Do you need a telepath to coordinate your team or a mobility to keep them out of harm’s way? And of course, the age-old question: who will be the first pick? With the scenario taking both Wolverine and Jean Gray off the table, the answer might not be as easy as you would think.

In the end, we were left with four incredible teams, each tailor-made to face one of the two threats. We won’t spoil the surprise here, but let’s just say there were some unexpected picks, some heated debates, and a whole lot of mutant awesomeness.
