This comic begins with a continuation of Wanda and Scythia’s battle from issue #4. Although Wanda tells Scythia the truth about what actually happened between Darcy and the sect, Scythia is still out to get Darcy. Towards the end of their fight, Wanda reveals to Scythia that she’s only trying to kill Darcy because it’s tradition. If Scythia doesn’t like the tradition, she should just change it. However, Scythia realizes that she doesn’t answer to the Bacchae people, or to Wanda. After being healed by Wanda, Scythia decides to start completely over and goes on her way. With Darcy now safe, Wanda begins rebuilding the town. She and Darcy begin their quest to investigate the mysterious stone from issue #1, and we’re transported to a cave, where we see a mysterious figure lurking inside. This is where we end off in issue #5…to be continued in Scarlet Witch Annual #1!

I thought this comic was awesome and a satisfying conclusion to the story of Darcy’s debt to Scythia and the Bacchae. I’m interested to see how the story continues in Scarlet Witch Annual #1 and I’m also interested to find out what’s so important about that stone. We know it resists Wanda’s power, but that’s all we know so far. Stay tuned for the next review of Scarlet Witch Annual #1! Also, be on the lookout for Scarlet Witch #6, coming July 12, 2023; I’m super excited to see how the story develops as this series continues!
