It’s that time of the week again. And here’s what the Dragon’s Lair staff tells me comic fans should be thankful for this week:
Polar Came from the Cold (Hardcover)

This Dark Horse title was apparently originally a webcomic, but it’s been re-written in some way called “re-scripted” for the print release. It looks like the art is fun and cinematic. And I love the synopsis: “Ripped out of retirement by an assassination attempt, the world’s most deadly spy-Black Kaiser-is on a collision course with a stab-happy torture expert and a seductive but deadly redhead. His mission only ends if he dies or kills everyone out to get him, and he’s not in the habit of dying.
Catwoman #25
It sounds like this is a tie-in to Batman Year Zero, which I know nothing about. I hope it reveals why Catwoman’s right arm is a cat, though.
Nova #10(100)
Even though the issue number is #10, this is billed as the 100th issue. So, either they added in all the previous Nova titles or they’re counting by 10s. My girls love “buckethead” head, though, so it stays on the list regardless of odd counting technique.
Thief of Thieves #18
Robert Kirkman writing a crime/thriller comic? Sure, why not. Must be pretty popular because only 18 issues in and they’ve got toys. I’ll bet the Lair could order these in for you if you wanted them.

Hawkeye #14
The title that restored my faith in Marvel comics in the current era of storytelling. I love that the cover features Lady Hawkeye and (my new favorite comic character) Pizza Dog. Officially the Casual Comics Guy Pick of the Week.
Thanks again to the staff of the Dragon’s Lair. Support your local comic book shop.
